Hot tubs and garden heaters are sometimes supplied with a European plug. The CEE 7/7 two pin plug is used across Europe and parts of Scandinavia as it fits both the German Schuko (side earth contacts) and French (earth pin) type of sockets.
To prevent voiding the warranty by cutting off and replacing with a UK 13A plug, made in our UK workshop, this adaptor provides a simple solution. We have previously sold a significant number of these adaptors, both to charge electric vehicles and to industry, due to their ability to withstand higher currents over a prolonged period of time.
As the hot tub/heater will be connected via a UK 13A plug, it is important to check that the total rating of the unit does not exceed 2,900w. European appliances can use up to 3,600w as European sockets are rated at 16A - this will overload a UK socket.
Specification:
- Tough UK 13A plug.
- Schuko IP44 rated socket (protected against low pressure water sprays). The socket supplied may vary according to stock and have either a plastic spring loaded (pictured) or rubber push cover.
- 0.3cm of 1.5mmsq industrial specification H07RN-F rubber cable, specifically manufactured for harsh environments with high mechanical, chemical, water and UV resistance.
