To support recent enquiries from humanitarian agencies, all adaptors which are suitable for use in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank have been collated on this page.
The electricity supply in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank is 230v 50Hz, which is the same as the UK and Europe. Historically plugs had flat blades. From 1989 sockets (left) were manufactured to accept both flat blades and a new design of plug with round pins, which was introduced in 2000. Modern sockets (right) have round holes which will accept flat and round pin plugs. The round pin plugs fitted to our adaptors are compatible with both types of socket shown below.
Typical Application
The picture below illustrates a typical application; a work light with a UK plug is connected to a type H socket using a heavy duty adaptor.
European French, Schuko or CEE7/7 Plug Hazard
European French, Schuko or CEE7/7 plugs must not be used with type H sockets. Although the pins are 0.3mm larger in diameter, if pushed hard they will mate. However, the earth will not be connected, which can be extremely hazardous. The two pin Europlug (type C) is however compatible.
